Our Story

Australian Native and Protea farm established in 2021

Nestled in of North East Victoria, Outback Flower Farm was formed in 2021 located in the rolling hills of picturesque Yackandandah.

Whilst we had the dream of having a Commercial cut flower garden when we retired, the global pandemic  moved that vision forward.

We have planted around 800 Australian natives and Proteaceae species and are continually adding to our farm.  Whilst initially focused on flowers, our attention has now turned to the incredible textural foliage and fillers that Australian Natives provide.

Sustainable farming is very important to us, we believe by adopting these practices our plants are happier, healthier and stronger, ultimately leaving us with a superior product and ensuring our farm is viable for many generations.

The Dream Team

Mel Quick

Floral Designer

Mel loves a degustation menu paired with good wine. She is obsessive with stationary, owns a ridiculous amount of sharpies and gets irate with slow drivers.

She cries when watching most movies, loves dogs and is usually the last one up at a party.

Chili

The Boss

Chili dreams of meal times, will seek out any available sunshine and loves chasing rodents.

She can snuggle under a doona undetected and is the happiest when she is on your lap.

Ben Quick

Everything that Mel doesn't do

Ben is a big fan of loud shirts, any social occasion and he gets very excited each time his monthly craft beer subscription arrives.

Known as Captain Risky, Ben doesn't believe it is a party unless Fireball is flowing and he will always appoint himself as the DJ.

Arlo

Head of Security

Arlo is a happy go lucky guy and is high on life.

When he is not taking selfies, he keeps himself busy swimming and surveying the flower farm.  He is obsessive with retrieving, constantly bringing you his treasures.  Belly rubs and pats are always welcome.
